This complete exterior restoration project was part of a Community Developement Block Grant program. The work involved structural stabilization as well as detailed attention to concrete, wood, the building's upper and lower moldings, windows, headers, sashes and sills.

	The 40 Monument Square building involved complete exterior restoration to address multiple problems including the gutter system, window headers, moldings and stucco repair across the entire facade. The result was a dramatic improvement in appearance and durability.
	There was extensive water damage around the windows. The old headers have been removed and stucco has been cut out in preparation for repair.
	The area above the windows required considerable attention. Problems associated with previous inexpert repairs allowed water penetration causing accelerated decay.
	Water caused extensive damage to the exterior stucco and continued into the wall structure.
