A complete exterior restoration was performed on this 19th century historic brick house, restoring much of the original detail that had been lost from the initial fabric. This work included:
- Installing a new slate roof with ornamental copper cresting.
- Installing new copper liners in the built-in gutters, new copper hanging gutters, and new copper downspouts.
- Structural stabilization to the existing roof rafters.
- Removing the blue paint that was covering the brick and then cleaning the brick. Both steps were completed using environmentally friendly products from Prosoco.
- Repairing the brick wall, with more than 3,000 bricks being replaced with a matching, salvaged brick.
- Prepping and pointing the mortar joints with a matching lime putty mortar provided by U.S. Heritage.
- Restoring and rebuilding the stone foundation.
- Replacing all the windows on house with wood windows to match original.
- Installation of new stone lintels under the new windows.
- Rebuilding a new porch where the original had been removed years ago.
- Installation of new wood siding in rear to replace old deteriorated siding
