The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with its 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award for Restoration/Rehabilitation for our restoration of Meyer Davis House & Hasty Cottage in the Town of Ponce Inlet. The architect for this project was Sidney Corhern Architect.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with its 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award for Adaptive Use for our restoration of the Historic Bryan Street House in Kissimmee.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented an 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award in Restoration/Rehabilitation for restoration of the Pritchard House in Titusville. The Durable Restoration Company was the contractor for much of the exterior restoration including windows, siding, roofing, and porch restoration. The architect for this project was Ken Smith Architects.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with its 2011 Outstanding Achievement Award for Adaptive Use for our restoration of Villa Providence in Hallandale Beach. We worked with Heritage Architectural Associates to complete this project using the design-build method.

Scott Schroer was presented with the Master Craftsmen Award by the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation for his numerous successful restoration projects including seven projects that have received Outstanding Achievement Awards from the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with the 2010 Outstanding Award for Adaptive Use for our restoration of the Derby Street Chapel in Cocoa. The architect for this project was Architects in Assocication Rood and Zwick, Inc.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with its 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award in the Field of Restoration/Rehabilitation for our restoration of the Amelia Island Lighthouse, located in Fernandina Beach.  The architect for this project was Kenneth Smith Architects, of Jacksonville, Florida.

The Durable Restoration Company was awarded the 2008 Preservation Merit Award from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office of the Ohio Historical Society for its restoration work on Eddie Rickenbacker’s childhood home.  Rickenbacker gained fame as a WWI hero, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, automobile entrepreneur, and President of Eastern Airlines.  The house, located in Columbus, Ohio, was built in 1895 by Eddie Rickenbacker’s father, and is one of only three buildings in Central Ohio designated as a National Historic Landmark. 


The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation presented us with its 2008 Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Adaptive Use for our extensive renovation and restoration of the Old Bostwick Schoolhouse to its new use as a regional library for Putnam County. The architect for this project was Kenneth Smith Architects,  of Jacksonville, Florida.

National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) presented the Association's 2007 Gold Circle Award in the steep-slope category to The Durable Restoration Company for the exterior restoration of First Congregational Church in Akron, Ohio. Read More.

Dayton Business Journal recognized Durable Restoration with a Structures Award in 2006 for the restoration of the Westcott House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The Historic Preservation Office of the Ohio Historical Society presented an Award of Merit to Durable Restoration in recognition of outstanding contribution to historic preservation in Ohio with respect to the restoration of the Westcott House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Read more

Foreman at The Durable Slate Company received the 2006 Central Ohio Builders’ Exchange Craftsmanship Award for the painstaking restoration of the Heritage Park log house in Groveport, Ohio, dating back to 1815 – 1825. The project involved restoration of both the deteriorated wood and the chinking and daubing between the logs to the exacting standards of the Secretary of the Interior. Read more

The National Roofing Contractors Association introduced a new award category in 2006 - Gold Circle Safety Solutions. This award conferred special recognition for the project at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Ohio for creating a safe environment in an especially challenging situation. Read more

In 2005, the Cleveland Builders Exchange Craftsmanship Award was presented to foreman at The Durable Slate Company for structural, slate, and copper work at First Congregational Church in Akron, Ohio. Read More

In 2005, foreman at The Durable Slate Company received the Central Ohio Builders Exchange Craftsmanship award, the second time he has been honored. The award was presented in recognition of his meticulous recreation of the copper cupola mounted above the glass skylight which illuminates stained glass windows in the ceiling of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Ohio. Durable Slate received an Honorable Mention award at the National Roofing Contractors Association's 2005 Gold Circle Awards. The company was recognized for its work on the Fair Street Christian Church in Springfield, Ohio.
